RECORDED/RELEASED: December, 2004-April, 2006 / November, 2006 PRESSED: 100 FEATURING: Douglas, Frank, Jim and Baldwin NOTES: from nightpass handmade records "Somewhere between complete vapidity and an intellectual criticism of culture lies Father’s Day, who managed to grow themselves from being a noisy inept garage punk joke into an exploration of the intersection of noise, punk and humor in music. This, the official Father’s Day mixtape attempts to explore both the musical as well as the performance aspects of the band. It includes skits, conservative political anthems and harsh guitar squeal that gives Gang Wizard a run for their money, but also some real pop leanings – they are from Phoenix after all, the pop music capitol of the universe. Artwork prominently features Kiefer Sutherland, a real man’s man. " |

French Quarter is Stephen Steinbrink, an amazing young man who makes really beautiful, minimal, folky, pop music and if you have never heard him before you are really missing out. The songs that are included on the split have never been released anywhere else; and he claims he doesn't remember how to play them; and he loves it when you request them at his shows. check him out at http://www.myspace.com/frenchquartermusic |
